Current Projects - Ana de Lara is writing a psychological thriller feature script about Filipino witchcraft. She also has a short black comedy, Good Girls Don't, in development. Good Girls Don't follows the story of a young Filipina girl, Marylou Santiago, who is prohibited from playing basketball by her mother who believes playing sports is unladylike. Marylou ignores her mother's warning that if she plays basketball she will grow a penis and now has to deal with the consequences.
May 13, 2011 - Near Silence has been invited to screen at the 2011 Atlantic Dance Festival in Moncton, New Brunswick. Screening details coming soon.
"We had the chance to see your film, Near Silence, which was so powerful. Among our events, we have a evening dedicated to films that explore the dance thematic. Naturally, we would love to show Near Silence at our event."

February 17, 2011 Ana de Lara is among four women directors selected to participate in the CTV / Women in the Director's Chair Career Advancement Module (CAM.) The program is produced by the Creative Women Workshops Association and will be mentored by Trish Williams (CTV), John Dippong (Telefilm Canada) and Mary Anne Waterhouse (Anagram Pictures.)

May 24, 2011 - Montreal indie pop artist Melina Soochan debuts the music video for her new single, The Mama Song, which features Ana de Lara as her mother.
May 16, 2011 - The Wyld Stallyns sketch troupe (Ana de Lara, Kyle Allatt, Lorne Budman, and Josh Budman) gets thumbs up at the 6th Annual Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival.
"The opening night of the 6th Annual Montreal Sketch Comedy festival did not disappoint. Wyld Stallyns opened with a brilliant sketch where a woman in labour births a never-ending multi-coloured scarf. Puzzling at first, until it is revealed the baby-daddy is actually David Copperfield and the son emerges as a fully-grown illusionist."

May 9, 2011 - Freshman's Wharf, which features Ana de Lara in a co-starring role, has been nominated for a Leo Award for Best Web Series.
March 8, 2011 - Ana de Lara, P-S Gendreau, and Rodney Ramsey win On The Spot's "So You Think You Can Improv" competition. After four weeks competing for audience and judges votes, the three veteran performers have succeeded in earning the grand prize - being part of On The Spot, Montreal's award-winning improv troupe.
Feb 23, 2011 - Ana de Lara has been offered a role in a Melina Soochan music video. De Lara will be playing the soulful singer-songwriter's mother in The Mama Song.
